2009 National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial

Last year we lost 3 members in the Line-of-Duty, this year their names will be added to the wall
at the National Law Enforcement Memorial, in Washington D.C.

A group that usually attends the event has been sold out; however, they have a waiting list for filling vacancies as they occur. Anyone interested in attending the Memorial in Washington D.C. this year can contact Detective Sharon Colby (Unit 610) at 773-544-2908 (cell). If you plan to travel on your own Detective Colby can assist with any questions you may have. An information packet is available from either Detective Colby or the Special Activities Unit. Sgt. Memorial Activities:

13 May 2009
Candlelight Vigil Ceremony, 8pm (at the National Memorial)

14 May 2009
Pipe Band March and Service, 6pm (at the National Memorial)

There will also be a gathering at Fado’s Irish Pub in Chinatown, tickets should be purchased in advance and members of all law enforcement agencies are welcome.

15 May 2009
Main Memorial Service, Noon (United States Capitol Building)
Members should wear their Class A Dress Uniform (Wool Hat, Blouse, Shirt w/tie and trousers-Batons and white gloves not required.)
