Sgt. Thomas Kehoe and his partner were investigating an armed robbery in which the offender forcibly took a citizens’ automobile. The officers canvassed the neighborhood and alertly noticed the gunman in the stolen car. When Sgt. Kehoe and his partner courageously attempted to make an arrest, an intense gun battle ensued in which both Sgt. Kehoe and his partner, Officer James Farley, were fatally wounded.
